Generic Remeron is a tetra-cyclic antidepressant that is usually prescribed to patients suffering from major depression and anxiety. It is one of the noradrenergic and specific serotonergic antidepressants (NaSSAs).   • Excessive sweating, confusion, high fever, fainting or feeling like you are about to faint
  • Sores or white patches inside the mouth cavity or lips
  • Weakness, difficulty in concentrating, headaches


Less serious side effects of Generic Remeron include drowsiness, increased appetite, lightheadedness, weight gain. Other side effects not mentioned here could occur. If you are not sure if what you’re experiencing is normal, speak to your doctor.

Drinking alcohol can increase certain side effects of Generic Remeron. Generic Remeron may impair your thinking or reactions. Be careful if you drive or do anything that requires you to be alert.

You should not take Generic Remeron if you are allergic to mirtazapine or if you are also taking tryptophan (L-tryptophan). DO NOT take Generic Remeron if you are currently taking or have taken an MAO inhibitor such as furazolidone (Furoxone), isocarboxazid (Marplan), phenelzine (Nardil), rasagiline (Azilect), selegiline (Eldepryl, Emsam), or tranylcypromine (Parnate) within the past 14 days.

Fatal side effects could occur if you take Generic Remeron before letting an MAO inhibitor completely clear out from your body.

As with some antidepressant drugs, you may experience suicidal thoughts when you start taking Generic Remeron. This is more common among patients under 24 years old. Before taking Generic Remeron, tell your doctor if you have any of the following:

  • Epilepsy or seizures
  • Bipolar disorder
  • Liver or kidney disease
  • Heart disease and/or angina in the chest
  • Low blood pressure or dizziness when standing up quickly
  • History of heart attacks or strokes
  • History of drug abuse
  • History of having suicidal thoughts

Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. Skip the missed dose if it is almost time for your next scheduled dose. Do not take extra medicine to make up the missed dose.

Store Generic Remeron at room temperature, away from moisture and heat.
